Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, through a net connection. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards as you can in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "handed out" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the player has decided on which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most profitable machine every instance.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
