Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be gambled on in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your computer, through an Internet account. The rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be "distributed" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable bettors are able to select the most money-making game every time.

As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which instance another round is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
