Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through an Internet account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the highest assemblage of cards possible in order to acquire cash. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are dealt if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each and every instance.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
