Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, through a net connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to get the highest assemblage of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to select the most profitable game every time.

After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
