Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your computer, through an Internet account. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and involve the player trying to get the best mixture of cards achievable in order to aquire cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning players are agile enough to choose the most profitable game every instance.

After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, several versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation a further round is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
